Short and complete: what this site learns about you.

Controller within the meaning of the GDPR

What this website stores
Nothing about you. No tracking, no analytics tools, no embedded social media components and no contact form. The only input on the entire site is the voluntary email address in the application generator, see below. There is also no user account and no login. One single exception, and it only comes about if you trigger it: if you switch the language at the top, the site stores a cookie for that (named “django_language”). Its entire content is two letters — “tr”, for example — so that you do not have to switch again on your next visit. It expires after one year, is evaluated on our own server and is not passed on to anyone. It contains no identifier that could be used to recognise a device or a person. Anyone who never switches language never gets a cookie. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings; the site will then appear in your browser language again.
Server logs
The hosting provider (Railway) processes technically necessary connection data when the site is accessed, such as IP address, time, page requested and browser identifier. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure and trouble-free operation). We do not evaluate this data and do not combine it with other data.
No third parties — and therefore no cookie banner
This site does not load a single file from a foreign server. The fonts are hosted by us instead of Google Fonts, the flat photos are fetched by our server and passed on, and there are no maps, no videos, no social media components, no analytics tool and no advertising scripts on the site itself. That is why you will not find a cookie banner here either. Under § 25(1) TTDSG, consent is only required if a site stores or reads information on your device that is not necessary for operation. That does not happen here: there is no local storage, no session storage and no tracker. The only cookie is the language choice you make yourself — it is exempt from consent under § 25(2) no. 2 TTDSG because it is strictly necessary to provide the service you explicitly requested: the site in the language you clicked. A banner would therefore have asked permission for something that either does not happen or does not require permission — and would itself have taken up storage on your device to remember your answer. You can check all of this yourself: open the developer tools, tab “Application”, look at storage. Before your first language switch there is nothing there.
Fonts
The fonts “Fraunces” and “DM Sans” are delivered from our own server (SIL Open Font License). There is no connection to Google Fonts.
Flat photos
The photos in the flat sections come from the original listings. Your browser does not load them from the respective portal, however, but from us: our server fetches the image and passes it on. As a result, neither the portal nor Discord learns your IP address. The images are only held briefly in memory and are not stored permanently.
Flat sections on the home page
The home page reads along with the public messages of the LIVINGEN Discord channels via the official Discord interface and shows the title, location, price, number of rooms and size from them. Contact details from the listings and the street address are deliberately not carried over. This retrieval takes place on our server — your browser does not talk to Discord.
Discord
The flat feed runs on Discord. As soon as you join the server, the privacy policy of Discord Inc. applies, not this one. We only see public profile information there and do not read direct messages. We do not export member lists and do not pass them on to anyone.
Access link and advertising
Access to the server runs through a Linkvertise link. As soon as you open it, the privacy terms of Linkvertise apply there; all we learn is that somebody used the link, not who. Flat listings themselves are always linked directly to the provider, with no intermediate step.
Flat listings
LIVINGEN processes publicly published listing data (title, price, size, location, link) for the purpose of passing it on to people searching. If a listing contains personal contact details of the provider, these originate from the provider's own public publication. If you would like something deleted, write to us — we will remove the entry and the source.
The email address from the application generator
On the page “Write application” you can generate a finished application letter. Everything you enter there — name, occupation, income, household — stays entirely in your browser. It is never transmitted and never stored. The only thing stored is the email address you enter yourself, together with the time, the exact wording of the consent and the language it was shown in. The purpose is to occasionally send you offers and news from LIVINGEN. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with § 7(2)(2) UWG. The wording is stored because a consent is only worth as much as the proof of what exactly was agreed to. The address is held by our database provider Supabase on servers in Ireland. It is not sold and not passed on to third parties. You can withdraw at any time, informally to the address in the legal notice. We then delete the email address completely; the lawfulness of processing up to that point remains unaffected.
Your rights
You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR) as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. As we do not store any data about visitors to this site, however, we cannot provide any information about your visit either. If you left your email address in the application generator, these rights apply to that address in full: access, correction and deletion take nothing more than an informal message.
